Some things on my list…
being still and silent
Listen to the rain
Watching the ocean
Taking a bath
Reading a good spiritual disciplines book
Cooking a meal slowly and creatively
Journaling my prayers
Playing piano
Taking a walk
Just being with friends and talking
Two hand holding a cup of hot coffee

But resting well ends with these things…it doesn’t start with them:

Resting well starts with seeking and finding my rest in Jesus before any of the the work or business of my day.

Resting well starts with working hard and intentionally so that have something to rest from.

Resting well starts with working hard to obey God’s call to rest even when life feels impossible.

Resting well starts with being intentional with your rest so that you are truly refreshed at the end of it.

Resting well starts with trusting Jesus with your life and your time enough to enjoy the rest that He does give.

Because your times of rest will not be restful if you start them from the wrong place. And so often it’s not that we have no time to rest, it’s that we are not approaching and using the time we do have well.
