For the days when you wake up in the morning already battling a mountain of to-do’s.For the days when the first sound from your waking lips is a heavy-hearted sigh.
For the days when you feel so much smaller than than the image you think you need to live up to.
For the days when you think you are not worth it.
Breathe.
When the thoughts crash in on you and the tears spring from nowhere
Breathe deep.
When you feel like you drowning under torrent of expectations.
Breathe in deep.
When you feel yourself starting to crack under the pressure of trying to be enough.
Breathe in truth.
Don’t just breathe in.
Don’t just heave deep breaths trying to calm your physical.
Don’t just draw a deep gulp of air to try and hold it all inside.
Breathe in slowly, fully.
Breathe in the truth of God’s Word. Whisper it in the pause of your breath.
Breathe in grace. Step out from under the cloud of expectations you’ve placed on yourself and step into the rain of His grace.
Breathe in deep and slow and full and preach grace and truth to your weary heart.
And maybe, like me, you’ll do this a thousand times before lunch and wonder how you heart can forget so quickly. And another wave of discouragement washes over you again and you ponder just giving in to the tide of stress and anxiety.
For those moments…Breathe.
And breathe again and again.
As many times as it takes.
Breathe in grace and truth and life and know that He will not fail you.
Sister, this is my story today…and maybe most days. But if I keep breathing in grace and truth, I know that He’ll somehow use my broken, anxious life to bring Him glory.
He is enough.
Breathe it in.
Breathe it out.
Breathe it in again.
Be blessed
