Yesterday morning was a struggle.Doubts, fears, anxiety
Wondering what others would think if I posted this or said that.
Worrying if I would get it all done on time.
Yet I knew that I needed to make Jesus my priority, not my to-do list. So I sat down at table in Starbucks, while waiting for my husband to start his lunch break, and opened my journal and the YouVersion app on my phone. I spent the next several minutes battling to still my mind, to hear from the Lord through the words I was reading.
I finished, many small battles won, but the war for my heart and mind still raging.
Normally, I say a quick prayer and move on, but today I knew I needed more. I flipped to a fresh page in my journal and began writing out my prayer, slowly and thoughtfully, like Daniel, confessing and blessing the Lord, through my prayer.
The truths I was writing down tugged at my heart. I knew I needed more. So I began a list of truth on the next page of my journal. Because more often than not, I walk through my day trying to ingot lies, instead of combating them with truth.
If I have the truth, if I know the Truth, then why am I living under shadow of lies?
Sisters, this list is by no means complete, but it is truth. It is the truth that my anxious heart needed. It is the truth my heart needs daily. It is the place I need to live from. I pray that it blesses you.
